Rat Appreciation Day
Every being on Earth has a place and a right to life. We are all connected. Join us and the Art in Action team for Rat Appreciation Day on March 29th, 2:00-4:00pm at the Hafer-Gibson building. This is a celebration for World Rat Day (April 4th) as well as to acknowledge and shift perspective on critters that have a bad reputation. There’s something for all ages, and the event is FREE.
Activities include:
-Rat themed crafts
-Giant cardboard mazes
-Scavenger hunt
-Snake meet & greet
-“Pest” control info
-Short presentations on native rats and anthrozoology (the relationship between humans and animals) at 2:45pm
-Rat themed trivia 3:15pm
-Rat Fight Robotics Club, their rat mascot & their aluminum can crushing robot!
- Rat Fight is an FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team dedicated to teaching robotics to high school students in the Madison County area. Berea College students and industry professionals mentor these students, guiding them through the engineering, programming, and teamwork skills needed to succeed in competitive robotics. Each year, teams receive a brand-new game challenge and have just eight weeks to design, build, and program a robot from scratch.
