Group Hike — American Chestnut Orchard

Join us for a hike at the Pinnacle Knob trail to learn about and see the American Chestnut mother orchard on the College forest. The Forestry Department has been managing this orchard and collaborating with the American Chestnut Foundation across multiple states to work towards cultivating a blight-resistant tree.
The hike will be 4.3 miles round trip with moderate to difficult sections. You can view a map here: https://forestryoutreach.berea.edu/trails/pinnacle-knob/
Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear for uneven terrain, and bring water.
STUDENTS: A shuttle will leave Alumni Circle at 12:45pm–this hike may take longer than our typical Saturday hikes, so please allow for more time before returning to campus.
