DESCRIPTION:Come join us each Saturday at the Forestry Outreach Center for Forest Meditations!\nThis is an opportunity to connect with ourselves\, each other\, and the world. All are welcome. If the weather is good\, we will meet in the “Nature’s Classroom” gazebo. Otherwise\, we will be in the Center. Bring your mats or cushions if you like. Chairs will be provided.\nWe will start with a short introduction to the sit\, meditate for about 20 minutes\, and then invite you to reflect on your experience in any way you wish. It could be through writing\, drawing or quiet contemplation. DESCRIPTION:Want to make new friends? Worried about hiking alone until you gain your confidence? Want to learn about the local wildlife?Then join at group hike at the Pinnacles in Berea!***Saturdays\, FOC staff and Berea College students will be ready to hike with you! The group that attends will decide on the destination together. We can also split groups (if there is ample staffing) if there are different wants/needs of hike difficulty.Please bring water and any medications you might need (i.e. inhaler). SUMMARY:Christmas Bird Count
DESCRIPTION:Join the National Audubon Society’s annual Christmas Bird Count\, a citizen science project that helps enhance the knowledge of bird populations\, migration\, and behavior. The Berea College Forest and reservoirs are vital habitat for many types of birds and the more we learn about them\, the better we can support them. \nDecember 20th is the big day for the Berea area. If you would like to participate\, contact Dr. Rebecca Bates at batesre@berea.edu to learn how!  \nOf course\, you can always observe birds any day of the year\, adding observations to eBird or iNaturalist as you go!
